Remote Deposit Capture or Back Office Conversion (BOC) from Remitplus offers the unique ability to deposit checks into a bank account from one's home or office without having to physically deliver the actual check to the bank.

This is easily accomplished by using a desktop scanner to scan checks onto a computer. These digital images are then transmitted via a secure upload directly to the bank. This creates an automated single or batch deposit that reduces the typical float to less than 48 hours.

This automated Remote Deposit Capture became legal in the United States in 2004 when the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21 Act) took effect. This is not the same as direct deposit, which refers to the practice of posting an employee's weekly earnings directly to his or her bank account.
